More About Dr. Caughlan

My Approach

Holistic and Collaborative

My treatment lenses see the whole person and I appreciate the interconnectedness of our body’s many systems. I zoom in and out of different body parts to connect the dots and address the root causes of symptoms. I often collaborate with other providers in a team approach to widen the scope of investigation and treatment.

Safe and Supportive

I am here to help you understand your symptoms in a language that works for you. This helps define where your body is and creates treatment possibilities in a safe space free of judgement.

Tailored and Customizable

My clients come to care with specific challenges and appreciate my ability to meet them where they are. Together we successfully build skillsets to meet their goals.

FAQ

  • Pelvic Health is important for people of all ages and genders.

If you are experiencing symptoms related to your bladder, gut, or anywhere in the pelvis, the pelvic floor muscles are important to evaluate.

  • Caughlan Physical Therapy PLLC is out of network with all insurances. An invoice or “superbill” will be provided for clients to submit directly to their insurance for reimbursement. Payment is taken upfront at the time of service (cash, credit card or FSA/HSA accepted).

Reimbursement rates vary by insurance carrier and plan. Please contact your insurance provider directly to inquire about your potential level of reimbursement.

  • The number of sessions needed depends on various factors, including your condition, treatment goals, and response to physical therapy. We’ll collaborate to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to achieving the best possible outcomes. On average, clients visit 6 to 10 times, typically once or twice a week. As you progress and are meeting your goals, we’ll gradually space out your sessions.

  • The first visit involves a deep subjective evaluation and a comprehensive physical examination depending on your symptoms. You will be educated on the potential benefits of physical therapy treatment and provided a customized treatment plan that works for your schedule.

  • Please allow 48 hours of notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Patients who provide less than 48 hours of notice to cancel, or who miss their appointment, will be charged a cancellation fee of the full session price to the card on file.

  • Pelvic floor physical therapy assessments potentially include an internal vaginal or internal rectal exam to evaluate the pelvic floor muscles. You have the right to decline this or any other part of the examination process that may make you feel uncomfortable.

  • Yes!

Unless you’re uncomfortable with the idea or feel just “blah”. If that’s the case, please follow the Cancellation and Missed Appointment Policy.
